Have 2003 KL GTVi. Basically same car!

Fuel economy (Not thrashing but not focussed on best economy either)
City 12.6Litres/100Klms
Country 8.9Litres/100Klms
Towing 1300kg boat 18.3Litrs/100Klms

Has great acceleration off the mark but saves its best for overtaking (80 to 140 Kph)

Car is quiet however bridgestone Grid 2 low profile tyres are relatively noisy.

Brakes in my opinion are only average but that is a subjective view. When car is out of warranty am going to fit front brakes with the bigger discs and twin piston calipers off the AWD models

Standard stereo is fantastic. Heaps of power and good base.

Handling is brilliant. Sits very flat in the corners.

Servicing costs no more than standard Magna which means cheap!!

Have had a few warranty (Nothing Mechanical) issues all fixed promptly by the dealer

Overall a very good performing, economical, well equipped vehicle.

I have a GTV, is a very nice car, lots of guts, nice interior, seems pretty well made, and the price for them is a bit of a bargain. go for it.

Hi,

I own a '03 KJ II GTVi, the newer version of the GTV. The only difference being the sunroof, spolier and sat nav (which i understand some later GTV's came without). The problem that i never thought of about Verdada's which have sat nav is that there is no cigarette lighter (not a problem for majority of people who are non smokers) which is a pain in the ar$e for those of us (dare i say, all of us) with car chargers for our mobile phones. A bad oversight on Mitsubishis part.

There was a review in wheels magazine between a Pewter GTV and a Silver Maxima(sporty version of Maxima, the shape before the current one) which may be of interest to you. If you are interested let me know and i will find out what month and year it was (i have a feeling either 2002/2003 issue) you should be able to visit your local library to obtian a copy of this edition. Not a bad writeup, Verada was by far a better vehicle. Explains the concept and equipment in a GTV (and i guess, therefore, a GTVi, as they both have the same running gear).

I traded my KH Verada in on my GTVi and think (as has already been said) they (and Verada's in general) represent excellent value for money (because of the poor resale value). You really notice those extra KW's (163Kw) over standard model Verada in the GTV/GTVi.

I maybe stating the obvious, but take a good look around for one, you tend to see a variation of prices for these two models in particular i have noticed. You should be able to pick up one with reasonably low km's for between $23,000 and $29,000 at the moment.

P.s i also love the leather and wood Nardi Torino steering wheel and matching gear nob.

blimey - 100kg's is a log (or two)

if you compare to a kl verada awd

city - 13.6 - 15.6l/100
country - 9l/100

I got one - all good, had some warranty stuff fixed, you may find you cant buy a GTV with a new car warranty anymore as they are from 2002, then they started making GTVi. My warranty ran out in November.
