hey guys have front splits running off a 2 channel amp. last night they made a pop and stopped working. the amp is on and fuse is fine, its not into protection mode (wel if it is, its going into it straight away)
wen i turn the car on it makes a small pop noise in the speakers and then nothing comes out of them...

i was advised that maybe its the RCA's behind the deck..? anyone had a similar problem and know what it is ?

ive booked it in to get looked at but its not getting looked at til the 20th :(

as i have no rear speakers it just the uberghey subs pumpin bass.... not nice at all

cheers for your thoughts :)

I had a very similar problem... the remote wire from the headunit had come out of the amp, so the amp wasnt turning on. Have you checked simple things like that on your amp?

Good luck
Pete

yeah my amps are under my front seat so theres limited space to take a look without taking the seat out (which i dont wanna do) but all the connections seem to be in and the fuse is ok so.... grr

Look at the where a seat should be attached to the floor, you'll find bolts, get a spanner or whatever you got that you can use to take them out...should be 4 of them but don't take my word for it.

Yeah, that's the biggest problem with putting amplifiers under-seats. People who are unaware of the location, or just completely reckless often drop things, put there feet onto it, accidently knockin out cabling and what not. I wouldn't even be concerned about it overheating under a seat.

I think off memory it's a 14mm socket you'll need. Move the seat right back, and there's 2 nuts to undo after you've taken the plastic covers off. Then move it right forward, and take the other 2 plastic covers off and there's 2 bolts to undo...

Then CAREFULLY work the seat out of the door :)
