What do people think of these... Looking at 18x8 with tyres (with the correct 94 load rating!)

Lightning (http://www.bobjane.com.au/Specials/Wheels.asp) $1500

PT Akuza (http://www.bobjane.com.au/Packages/wheelPackages.asp?mk=3&md=2)

ANZ Voltech (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=302) (12 months warranty on finish)

Warwic (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=415)

Adelaide radial tyres will lower the car with Kings super low front, low rear for about $435ish.

Im just a bit cautious about Tempe as Ive heard a few bad reports...
Also, depending on who you go to, they tell you that 18x8 is too wide as it will stick out past the guard edge, others say its fine! Who here actually has some on that can say yes or no?

The first ones dont look too bad... I was hoping for something like the ROH DriftR look but they were all too expensive :(
Any other suggestions (under 2k if possible!)

Cheers
Pete

Thats all got to do with offset

if u get the right ofset the extra width can be distributed evenly on both sides. then it shouldnt foul the guard or the suspension.

someone will no doubt come on and tell u the right ofset shortly.

i have the Lighting on my car. I got a great deal, i managed to get a 17*7.5 with 235 tires for $800 after trade. They are a good wheel but i don't think 8 will fit my 7.5 with the 235 don't leave much clerace to the front struts. Heres a pic

the akuza is on my car, looks SIC
im pretty sure that the akuza is a 18x8.5 in the 18
i understand that mine is an early model (tr) but the 17X7.5 235/45/17 almost hangs out the front gaurd

I've always been a fan of ANZ Voltecs.

If ur goin to Adelaide Radial Tyre Centre on North East Rd, Daryl would probably remember me. I highly recommend them. Very customer focused. I prefer to part my money to someone who says the right things and helps, rather than just trying to sell rims as fast as they can.

I'm running 235/40, and im reasonably sure they're 18x8 wheels. It all depends on the wheel of course. Backs arent a problem. Fronts looking straight down, they just make it inside the guard lip. I've never had scraping issues.

What rims did you get? Could you check what the width is for me?

Post a side pic of ya car Poita and see ifn anyone can photochop those wheels on for ya.

The lightning look a liitle plain but have a certain amount of class
The akuza's are startin to get a bit common especially in gold. They look ok
The last 2 look different but if your sus on the company thats a worry.

Thats my humble opinion anyway :D

I'd definately see if sumone can photychop em to see how they look, and check what sorta tyres come with the deal. Lousy tyres can make a cheap price not so cheap :)

Another option has come up!

ROH DriftRs... a bit more expensive, but a very nice looking rim. Think they would look good in 18s on a magna sedan? (ive only seen em on a wagon...)

I got quoted about $2500 for DriftRs, tyres and Kings superlow/low combo supplied and fitted.
(about $450 to supply and fit springs...)

Can't comment on the cost...but...what about shocks. The life expectancy of the stock shocks lowered is questionable. And ya might as well get it done while everything else is done. Add about another $500 i think for that

I thought of that... Might get them to put some Monroe GT Gas in while they are at it.. shouldnt be too much more for labour if they have to pull em off for springs anyway!

*cough* KYB shocks *cough ;)

GT Gas give a very firm ride. If ya like firm then thats good, otherwise KYB :)
