i just bought an exec TE but i work in an auction shed and see heaps of magna's go through and once they all get to around 240km they are just not the same. Blowing smoke, tappets get a lil loud and you might also want to check out the gearbox as they are another problem that occurs. lucky you didnt buy a TR or TS as they just about all seem ****ed.

My last 2 cars ran on LPG, the first did 250,000 and I sold it to update it not because it had any troubles, my present 1 has 280,000 on it and its still fine. (Mind you they are fords)
I changed the head gasket on the present 1 about 10,000 ago and the top of the engine was spotless. The gasket had just given up with age. The compression is still well within specs and the valve train was perfect although I gave her a quick grind while I had it apart.
Repco are pretty good at servicing there cars and thats the most important thing. I should last for yonks yet as long as nothing breaks (that can happen at any mileage)
I run mine on Penrite HPR GAS and ive had no problems with it.
Hope that helps, there are plenty of old wives tales about lpg, ignore em. :D

exactly, if they are looked after since they are owned and services etc, they will be in better condition.
As for the smoke and tappets, the valve stem seals wear out and the oil might not be the best quality for the car.
Its just like humans, if we dont look after ourselves we are going to have problems down the track, same theory.
Just check the oil grade, get the valves done, check/clean TPS and the car should be fine.
