My TR is in limp mode (stuck in 2nd gear) After checking almost all things, doing a service etc we suspect the Transmission ECU. Does anyone know where its located on the TR???

Gregorys says its under the centre console but we cant find it ... thanks in advance .. x202brat

The computer might still have the error left in it, try disconnecting the battery for awhile, if that fails, take it to a mechanic who has a special computer they can plug it into and clear the error codes (mits dealer will have one).

someones stolen it then. Engine comps under teh passengers side gloove box. tranny comp is behind the stereo well mine was there.
dont know why yours wudnt be there??? beats me.

what yr TR is urs? mine was 91 and it was in the place i said. perhaps mitsu changed the location for 92 -> magnas???

Mine's a late 91 model smokey.

so was mine late 91. i have no idea why u cant find it. if i still had my TR id take a photo and show u. r u sure its not there??? its a silver box with 2 plugs in it about 20 cms long.

yes, certain. 2 of us are looking and theres nothing behind the stereo that even resembles an ECU. Can see the main ECU behind the glovebox, but not this one. I wonder if some types combined the transmission ECU into the Main Engine ECU?

i would highly doubt there combined. try ringing mitsu and ask them. r there any panels behind the stereo? maybe the comps hidden behind there if there is?

I'm STILL no closer to even locating my transmission ECU :confused:
