hey guys got a little prob if someone might know, just respond.
Car has 8000k's on it now, last night was driving around a fair bit turning car off, on etc. My car was parked say for 10 mins, went to start it up and the idle was crappy. then drove around left the car off for a couple hours then it was perfect, and has been today as well. Seems like it might happen when i turn off/on alot, shouldnt make a difference in my mind. ideas Anyone?
oh car runs bp ultimate also. but it sorta felt like a dieing lead or spark plug
Turned it on now after driving all day today, and works perfectly, bit weird. MIght get mitsu to investigate at next service. god knows what they can do. as i doubt it would have thrown any error codes
When you say 'crappy'...how much variance in idle rpm are we talking?
Cause pretty much all the 3.5 engines that i have driven (about 5?) have had a very slight miss/vibration on idle but the tacho needle stay perfectly constant.

I recently got Barry's fuel rail kit and blocked the EGR. Idle is much better, more stable. But unlike my 3.0 TE yeah they do idle a bit unevenly.

the needle was fine, but i could just feel it throughout the car as it's not how it should be. But it has settled down and been fine since. Maybe it doesnt like being turned off and on alot
grrrrrrrrrr..so is this a plague for all the 3.5s?
this rough idling?

got Barry's kit installed on Sat ... hopefully this vibration will go away now

Guys, I always thought the magna engine & transmission is smooth as most reviews I read.
So I think we need some more facts in order to find some common characteristic as to why your cars are idling rough. Mine's currently 68000km and idling is smooth as always. 5 days a week trips to work is 5mins each way so the car warms up just as the missus arrive, in stop start traffic, so lets compare notes:
km = 68,000 km
(last) oil changed = 57,000 km
oil = Mobil1 5W50
Fuel = Shell ULP (cause its cheapest)
A/C use = no
warm up = no
idle rev = 1100rpm cold, 800rpm warm
typical use = 8 km to work, city driving
thats all i can think off.... I also think happy thoughts of my magna, so if nuttin else +ve karma might have done it.

If you were turning it on and off a lot, maybe it's just your thermo-fans kicking in. I always know when mine are on when I'm idling 'cause I feel a slight vibration through the steering wheel.
