Computer fans I'd say, where is it? If it's under the seat might want to move it to the boot.

where is ur amp mounted to right now?

1. you could re-direct all your aircon vents to flow directly onto the amp itself. Its a very common and easy mod to do. Highly recomend it.

2. Or there are less conventional but as effective methods like mouting the amp just in front of the radiator. Possibly cutting a piece of your front bumper out to allow air to pass to the amp more freely.

3. Ive seen a few people use cooler boxes, but this requires you to continiously buy ice from servos. Its the most effective way of cooling down your amp, but the rrunning costs could get high depending on the amount of driving you do. Do this if you only drive for short trips.

4. Another more visually pleasing mod to cool your amp is to create a custom dual box setup, where the subs are facing each other and the amp sits inbetween them. The woofers movements should provide enough air movement to cool the amp down a little bit. This all depends on the subs excursion distance.

Amps shouldnt heat up to the point where it cuts out.. maybe u should try putting the gain down.. or get a new one to keep up with your system :)

I have the same problem with one of my amps. I will drill a few holes into the lid on one side and attach a 40mm fan onto it to blow air in. Also drill a few holes at the other end where the air can vent out.

mmm sure if its under the seat the exhaust heat under the car would make the floor hot

yep puter fans one day they may install cooling fans to the amps but maybe thas asking to much of ppl to think i dont know the amp
what about little drill holes to release the heat (carefully in the right places )
or put it on a bracket to give it some all around air flow ?

My amp has a cooling fan built in!! I wanted it under the drivers seat because i always have the seat right back so it wont get kick by any passengers, and i was told that they heat up mroe under the driovers seat becuase of the exhaust under the floor (whether this is a load of bull or not... :doubt: ) anyway, yeah, so i got the one with the cooling fan.. i think its a Blaupunkt somethingerather.... lol

may be better to have the fan blowin out... may help stop dust n stuff gettin inside

Either way, whether the fan is blowing in or out, there's gotta be a hole for air to get into the amp, otherwise the fan will be trying to create a vacum in the amp, lol

Computer fans are probably the easiest thing for you to do. Coupla fans, some wire and a relay.

Silly as it may sound but how about just buying another amp with the cooling fan already in it? Both my Audiobahn's have intergrated fans = no heat problems for my amps under the seats.

Dont push ur amps further than they are designed to go.
Or upgrade to more power

Funny thing is, the gains are only 70% up for my subs. And when i have it up loud, it cuts out sometimes for a second. Rather annoying. So cannot really say that im pushing the amp, coz gains aren't up to max.
