Hi @ll!
I am the new guy in town...Nickname Chantra, 36,m, German, Melbourne.
Just got to Australia and got myself a 1998 Magna Wagon V6 Executive, and need your advice on Audio setup.
I want to replace all standard speakers with better ones (using the available mountings), plus a Subwoofer tube.
Can any of you reccomend decent speakers that fit? (i.e. Sizes, makes , etc).
Appreciate you help!! :bowrofl:

You'll need to clarify afew things for the car audiophiles on the forum.
1) Projected total price you wish to spend.
2) Do you wish to run the setup with stock deck or do you have an aftermarket deck fitted?
3) What music do you listen to?
4) Subwoofer tube!?

Those subwoofer tubes can actually put out a bit of bass, http://www.earthquakesound.com/tubes.htm

Hi Genocide - and thx 4 answering!
As it is a company car, I want to keep the costs low...but do want a decent sound in my car.
There is an aftermarket DVD/MP3/VCD etc player fitted - a noname product with only 1 PreAmp outlet...I do want to keep it, though.
Music i listen to is mainly Techno/Rave/Trance (Yes, even with 36 years of age I still need this music!)
Subwoofer tube: Not sure how u guys call them here - the round boxes that usually house a 10 inch (or better) subwoofer.
Does this info help?
Cheers,
Chan

Thanks!
Checked the link - looks good. What minimum amp would u reccomend for the earthquake tube?
Cheers

Chantra, personally, Earthquake subwoofers are usually a grudgier rougher sound, so I'd probably just match it with a 5 channel earthquake amplifier (1800Watt) which will power the tube along with any speakers you throw in it. You could also look at the 5 channel Audison amplifier which will also be powerful enough to run the sub and your speakers.

Chantra, how much do you want to spend?
There are many brands out there.
an6 6" or 6.5" speaker will fit in the doors. I'd look for component speakers (probably 2 way splits)
A decent 4 channel amp to power them will keep the costs down and you can power the sub off the other two channels.
Keep the existing 6x9's or do a cheap upgrade ( more important upgrading the fronts as your ears are listening to these most)
