Be aware that you are buying from hong kong. Sometimes its good stuff, sometimes its factory seconds and sometimes its a fake company. In any case you have to pay by credit card and in that basis alone I dont shop with overseas vendors. :D
also, although it will not always happen, you may get slogged paying duty (or something like that). A mate and i were investigating picking up a lilliput touch screen for a carputer, but we found out about this added cost.
apparently you can be lucky, but if not it is $100 or so.

Fats,,
if the total value of the item is less than $500 customs 90% of the time wont even look at it..
so if its like 2 or 3 hundred, doubt they would even check!
you can double check this on the customs website,(will post a link if i can find it again)
fair enough. the one we were looking at was about $400. The only reason i mentioned it was because some one on some other forum had been stung paying the extra.

I would stay away from that screen. The deck might be good (i had a protec DVD deck that i sold here) and that was pretty good but sound quality isnt the best.
But yeah, i would keep away from that LCD. I bought one that looked the same and you couldnt see the screen from the side and it blew up on me in a week
EDIT: $71 for postage!

I bought a touch screen from hong kong for my carputer, and haven't had any problems. It took about 4 days to arrive.
Postage was about $40, and I didn't get stung for import tax.

In regards to additional fees on overseas items, if it is over $500 you may need to pay gst and tax.. but this is only the 10% GST and then about 5-10% tax...
So if its $500, you would pay $50 GST and maximum of $55 tax. Some things are still very cheap even after these charges...
But yeh, being the size it is, and how it will be packaged, you still shouldnt have a problem with it.
