Hi need to know does a superlow/low combo wotk on stock shocks, ie they will not fall out of the cradels. I am about to buy some and untill i can get new shocks i am stuck with old ones.
Also for those who have done the spring change themselvs, did you need that special tool for the front springs to hold the cradel to undo the lock not of not?

I've been running King's low springs along side my stock TJ Sports shocks for the last 30,000km no problems.

well only special tool u need are sring compressors (good ones, dun get chepo ones) i jus got my springs done on suday with super low fronts and low rear on stock shocks an all is good. although u might wanna do search coz sum one here had super lows on his TL and it was too low. but for tools thats the only special tool u need. might be easier with 2 ppl.

Yeah no i have done springs before and got all the gear but i looked over the magan manual and it states that a special tool is needed to hold the front spring cradel to undo the locknut.
how much do the superlows drop the car by?
All the peolpe with a TL and with superlows, hows the car with geting in and out of driveways ect. Is a supperlow/low combo good or too low, i don't like the gap in the front guard.

LOL. you all say that the stock shocks are ok still. I bet if you dumb KYB's into it, you will know how ****ed the stockies really are. I had stocks in them for a while, and i didn't know they were gone. Put kyb in, and damn... huge difference

I had superlows on the front and the car was useless adn that was with adjustable konis. I dont know if the AWD sit lower than FWD but I have since changed to lows all round. The TL's have smaller wheel arches and have side skirts so the dont need to be lowered as much. Ive only got crappy pictures of mine lowered but ill put em up.

i haven't measured mine but my front is waayyy high. I am getting lows for the rear and superlows for the front. worse come to worse i can get the stock springs compressed and tempered to make them harder. Oh well to late, got them on the way should be here soon

i think what you should be more worried about is ride quality mate, ur stock shocks and ur low springs arent matched to each other, which equals alot of bouncing around.

yeah well there is that. But aslong as the new springs don't fall out of the shocks i'm all good till i have more money. I calculated last nigh that i'm gona have a lot of trouble getting in and out of my driveway, seing as it is a very steep one and then it comes down to a straight road, oh well got to tell the missis to learn to drive out on an angle.
Do most people have trouble scraping over bumps and stuff. I have seen plenty of TJ lowered and they still don't look too low.
define bousing round, as in stiff springs bouncing round, or blown shokies bouncing round. i don't mind if the suspension is stiff and bouncy, i ride a bike most days, BIKE=NO SUSPENTION BALL BUSTER.

Well mate, to clarify what it will look like. Its going to sit as low as mine and bretts cars....so care will need to be taken on driveways :D

floating is more the word to describe the bouncing around
ie, once you go over a bump in the road..... the whole car is still bouncing/floating up and down for 1-2 seconds

Go SLs front and Ls rear, you'll look sweet, ride comfort will still be good and I haven't had many clearance issues at all.
I wouldn't bother upgrading your suspension, I got KYBs and I think I wasted my money. If you can pick up a 2nd hand pair cheaply then do it or if you have money to spend gets some Konis or even coil overs...
Just my 2 cents
