after buying the a 98 Solara V6 and sending it for a 120,000km service at our usually mechanic, i seem to realise i have some form of a rattle coming from the engine just below 2000rpm and to about 3000rpm. anyone got any idea what the problem is? i'm going to send the car to a mitsubishi dealer of inspection soon but i was hoping to find sound that may have a similar problem and be able to help me out a lil before i send it for an inspection.

My only advise i have is dont go to mitsubishi. THey are a ripoff. Unless its a warranty job, seek somewhere else to service your car.

Just take it back to him. Check the heat shields on the headers.

That's exactley what it is (the heatsheilds on the headers). They just re-adjust them to fix the problem.

well if its the heat shield...should i just ignore the issue and continue life as it is (foot to the floor) or should i just get some tools and tighten it up myself...last thing i want is something to fall outta the car as i drive it around can be very embarrassing
