Hey does anyone know where to get some Cold Air Induction mounting brackets for a TL AWD? Its tiptronic and the supplied ones from RPW don't fit.

BTW has anyone heard about the HM headers for the Magna. Are they any good. Im looking at a new exhaust system and the guy i was talking to recommeded them. They are frigging expensive but $980 fitted.

Also is it worth putting a Canon on my model or wouldn't I get enough back pressure. Im looking at redoing the entire exhaust in 2.5 stainless steel.

After im looking at either a Unichip or Haltech piggyback in combination with new fuel pressure regulators.

Feel free to supply any advise tips or tricks people have tried.

Definately get 2.5" exhaust system. Dont worry about this backpressure ****. Its all a myth. Just can't go too big with exhaust pipe, as the exhaust gases dont flow out properly, hence people saying backpressure..

The rear muffler is the most restricting in the stock exhaust system. Followed by the cat. So if you do a cat back 2.5" exhaust system with a canon or a straight through muffler with a tip, you will gain a few HP at the wheels. Definately becomes more torquier and rev's up faster.

A bracket for your intake, uhm... did you buy the RWP one? with the 259 x 90deg bends? lol Maybe have to make up your own. Speak to blackbeard, he has that one too on his TJ magna. Its propably different on yours as its AWD, which uses more room under the bonnet.

Anyways, good luck, and enjoy the new exhaust notes :D

Yeah its the RPW one but the brackets dont fit.

Ive been looking at a full custom job in stainless steel and widening the holes on the existing cat.

What about the Haltech. Has it proven itself any better than the e-manage.

Horses for courses.

One is a product from overseas, cheaper and has limited local support while the other is home grown but more expensive.

In a simple NA setup, much of a muchness. the e-Manage is supposedly more flexible come boost time with additional fueling options but only if the tuner is really familiar with it. Mitsiman is yer man to chat to.

dont worry about the cold air intake at the bottom of the car, If its a tf/tj go for a bonnet vent and have the cold air intake into it that way, The Best car to have a cold air intake on is a tl / tw from the grille area, More positve air their.

I found only one of the 'mounting brackets' supplied by RPW was actually useful (even then - poorly designed). I ended up fabricating 'brackets' out of speed brace, which was good because it was super easy to bend/cut/drill to the required shape - but isn't all that rigid. The plan was to use these temporary brackets as a template to fabricate more permanant brackets out of mild steel at a later date - but I've since removed the system from my current car, and have doubts about fitting it to my new car.
