do you want more or less chrome?
leave the chrome as is.

plastic chrome wont stand the weathering and normal use will it ?

If that is so then all our chrome boot garnish and Grille would be in trouble. You are a bit right anyway, if you do not keep the Chrome clean then it will tarnish and become dull. So you guys need to think whether you want to clean them often. Normaly I go to the extend of after rain, I would dry my car and clean the Chrome parts, this is preventing water spots and acid rain to eat the chrome finish.
