Platinum? Who makes these?

I have the NGK Iridiums in mine, made for a smoother idle.

I changed mine last weekend.
bought 6 @ $22 each.
I figure if they are going to last 100k on the back then WHY-THE-HELL-NOT put them on the front ones as well.
It took me about 30 mins to change them over..
I have pics if you want.

Yeah, don't know what the fronts are supposed to be but the rears are platinums. You have to take the intake plenum off to get to the. That's why Mitsu charge two arms and a leg. Well, the legs for the timing belt but you ge the drift. I'm going to go Iridiums next service as they'll swap the rears then and although I've had the fronts replaced, what the heck. I've also heard there's Iridium 2's available but have no idea if they are any better, (or really exist).

yeah i also got my changed at 100K service at kmart and cost me around $800 , including 6 x platinium plugs, Cam seals, Tining belt, alternator belt, transmission flush and transmission filter.

my ex-mechanic told me the only reasonfor putting platinum at back is coz they last long and saves you the time and money to get them changed after 20-30Kin tervals like other plugs.

so yeah he put the platiniums in front as well for me.

yer,T butcher,i'd love to do that but being under a @##$$%% warranty,it'd just void it.So every1 who has done it,does it a 100k?
Always thought it was 80?
Oh well more time to save up for that big service :? :?

Timing belt is a nominal 100 thou. So that's 90 or 105 depending on how rich you feel.

Well I just had the belt replaced at 120 thou would u believe and also the rear 3 spark plugs. I got NGK iridium. The car feels alot better and the idle is slightly improved, But the idle is still lumpy....Where can I look for the source of the lumpy idle?????/

Thanks

I changed the rear plugs in my KS V6 on the weekend and although it was a bitch of a job, it took about an hour for all 6 plugs. You don't need to take the plenum off, All you need is a good hex socket with a flexi joint in it, and a bar that is not fixed along it's length (can slide). Oh, and a hell of a flexible wrist too.

I just did a Verada, KE, Plugs, 6 x Platinum, Timing belt, Water pump, fuel, air and oil filter, coolant, both belts and all clamps (ie radiator and t body) witha quick throttle body clean for $750.00 including labour for a members dads car on the weekend.
The best part was the he had got 158000 from the timing belt belt, fuel filter and all plugs except the std fronts which have been replaced with platinum anyway.
Goes to show you can be lucky and the car was still running fairly sweetly despite all this.
