Hi

I've just registered here... Am a member of the MOGWA forum but there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity there now...

There are a couple of things I'm wanting to do with my car. I bought it a few weeks ago as my wife made me sell the other one I had and I missed it too much!

Anyway, I also have a TP Elite which I'm using for parts. I will upgrade bits and pieces of the new car but will leave those questions until later.

I have a problem with the TN Elite. It doesn't run... I can start it and the engine will run, but I have to keep pumping the accellerator to keep it going. I don't mean having to just rev it, I mean actually pumping the accellerator pedal. I've replaced the plugs, leads, rotor button and dizzy cap. I also replaced the fuel pressure solenoid. I'm about to do the fuel pressure regulator and failing that, the fuel pump.

On a hot day, the car will start normally, run for about a second and then stop, unless I start pumping the accellerator. This is why I figure it's a fuel problem. Does this sound like I'm on the right track? I have all the parts I need from the TP, so it's not like this is being an expensive exercise or anything.

If shes a carbie jobbie, it sounds a bit like your jets are blocked and its running on the accelorator pump. Give em a clean. Turbo Charade has a link where you'll find the carb info you need :D

tn elite guys - no carby crap, efi!
try looking at your tps adjust that with the ics see if that makes any difference
also get under and hit the cat cos i remember gav having a similar problem and it turned out to be a blocked cat
maybe try replacing your fuel filter too while your at it could be blocked maybe???

Got the new fuel pressure regulator on to the car (yes it is EFI, all TN Elite's are). It hasn't improved things and I've found fuel pressure to be good. What I did find is that the fuel smells almost like paint stripper or turps or something similar. It's a gold/rust colour as well...

I think I'll just get the fuel tank from the TP and replace the one on the TN. The TP was going and has about 40 litres of fuel in it.
