Mine does the exact same thing, only mines a 4 cylinder, mainly only notice it on a really cold day though. As to why, dunno, i think all EFI do it to a certain degree.

Let it warm up first? Either that or take it to the local mechanic/EFI place and explain what is going on.

Yes mate, I am smart enough to know that but I figured that maybe, just maybe someone on this forum had the knowledge (first hand information) of what the cause is.

Its easier to be forearmed with the name of the likely problem/s so that one can know if one is being ripped off with labour.

In the late 80's and early 90's it was commonplace in Sydney (and other places) to simply need sparkplugs, but be charged for major services, transmission rebuilds, even for full engine rebuilds.

Im trying to avoid being ripped off, and figured that at least one person on the magna forum would have the knowledge of what the likely cause is, and if its an easy fix, a DIY typre repair, or if it needs a diagnostic machine hookup.

Ps, regarding your comments on letting it warm up, page 6-4 of the TS magna owners manual states: "(4)After starting the engine, do not keep the engine idling without driving. Only when atmospheric temperature is very low, warm the engine at a high speed idle"

and "extended idling to warm up a cold engine is not necessary or recommended as it needlesly increases fuel consumption"

Also, every other source of automotive information which I have read in the past 15 years, all state something along these lines:
"DO NOT let the vehicle sit idling to warm up the engine, The vehicle will warm up faster by simply starting and then driving off moderately, avoiding high engine revs"

Thanks for your helpful comments.
