Myself and Arcane test drove a Manual 380
we both found this car to be very gutless and lacking the punch of our TJ VRX's
1st and 2nd gear were too short and the whole car felt nothing like the TJ powerwise.
i didnt like the 380 at all and i dont think i will be purchasing one ever.

having said that, in its defense it was only about 40kms old, so still very fresh. Uness it opens up a hell of alot more when it gets a few more kms on it its a very disapointing effort from mitsubishi :(

Give the car the benefit of the doubt. I just brought a 2.4 Lancer and it was nothing special to start off with. I have done 1700 km now and it has freed up a hell of a lot. It should be spot on with 5000 up.

Yep that’s the reason, and I assure you, they open up. Id say the GT, I have driven can match a Auto VR-X, maybe slightly behind due to the weight. Manual 380 to manual TJ VR-X, Hmmm, well I don’t know, I wouldn’t think so, but one should be able to keep up with a TL, also what you must consider is the driver, because really at the speeds and acceleration these cars are capable off, a launch can make a diff between wining and loosing in a street race, and the quater.

What I do know is the 380(VR-X/GT) drives a heck of allot better, feels much more confident steering wise, feels tighter too, then a 3rd gen VR-X.

- chris Supposedly the manual boxes are really clunky for the first 1000k's or so as well, did you notice this? Might have had something to do with the lacklustre performance?

just to refresh your memory..... 99% of 380 buyers are not going to be buying it for its quarter mile time!

I am 100% certain the 380 is quicker than previous Magna models.

agreed, what is it with this forum and making the 380 out to be some kind of potential race car to win all the traffic light drags,

its a family car, so its been designed for the specific needs of a FAMILY and not michael schumaker
