Hiya,
Just wondering for your opinions.
Now, I have a white TJ.
Looks like this for those who don't know - http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.dealer_vehicle?vehicle_id=2726637¤t_rec=19&total_rec=109&sort_type=1&make_id=3&model_id=57&badge_id=25888&state_id=-1&search_distance=25
Anyway, I REALLY loathe the black on the sides down low and was thinking of putting the ground effects kit on it. ChelsTJ has it.
However, do you think it's really worth the 800$ for the kit + installation and painting.
Or is it better to just colour code the trimmings like in http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17670
Just wondering on your opinions as I can't decide for myself unless I had both done to my car and made the choice that way hehe :D
Just not sure how much color coding it would cost as opposed to the ground effects kit/painting and install. Which would you think is better bang for your buck.

yeah get the ground effects kit!! no other kit has the quality of a factory one (except for holdens) and the price is amazing compared to some other factory offerings. i dont think theses kits will be around

What are those 2 kits you posted pics of?
Are they both ground effects?
Anyway, does someone have or can photo chop it so I can see a comparison between color coding and putting on a ground effects kit.
Also, am I right in estimating like
800 for ground effects kit + 500 for paint and install (1300$ total)
or
500 for color coding
Tbh as it stands I cant see much difference, well not 800$ worth of difference.
I guess anything but the ugly base model style blackish grey is good with me :bowrofl:

I have a pewter TJ sports. Can you post a couple of pics of your car with the kit on. I may be interested. Would probably want the whole kit though, incl. front lip. Did you mean you would swap your front bar for one without the lip?
Cheers.

the 1st pic is standard, just lowered and VRX rims. (altera's have the mirrors and bottom of the doors, grill and fog light blanks colourcoded) only difference of the 2nd pic is the ground effects kit.
this pic is with 18's, colour coded door mouldings, parabolics, clear indicators and badges removed.

I think I might just get it all colour coded as it'd surely be cheaper then the body kit.
I have a few scratches on the boot/front from the previous owner to fix up anyway.
Color coded:
Side skirt
Side trim
Mirrors
Fog light surrounds
Anything else
How much do you think it'd cost to get done?
Anyone know who in Melbourne would do it (NE suburbs preferred or if not then N or E or central Melb would be ok)

hey thats my car in the first example. Look, if you only wanted to get rid of the black and not want to spend TOO much money, i would recomend colour coding. if you have a bit of know how you will be able to do it easily yourself. it makes a great change! and i think it looks good.
I am not a real fan of the ground effects side skirts coz they are just an attachment on the bottom of the original side skirts and personally i think it looks pretty second rate.
