It depends on how far you're willing to go.
You could just upgrade your pads to Ferrodo or Bendix ($70 - $150pr), from there you'd change your rotors, to slotted (~$120ea), then to slotted and cross drilled (~$150ea), from there you can use a higher grade of brake fluid, ie. DOT4 or DOT 5.1.
After that it's serious money. 4 or 6 pot calipers, larger rotors, composite/ceramic rotors.
Your wallet is really the only limiting factor.
For everyday driving, you'll be fine with a pair of slotted on the front, and a set of Ferrodo pads.

at the moment im running bendix heavy duty bads back and front so if i upgrade the rotors will that give me better stopping power. I can afford all that i dont want to go over board but i want a fair decent improvment like i said i dont now much about brakes slotted brakes whats the difference

There's a middle ground solution too. If you can find a wrecked Ralliart or AWD you can pinch it's twin-pot calipers and disks. These disks are also larger than the regular magna being 294mm at the front compared to 274mm standard (or there abouts anyway). The AWD rears won't bolt up nicely, but the Ralliart ones will.
RPW also sell an upgrade kit to go to 294mm front and larger rears using reconditioned calipers. Prices start from around $1200 from memory.

I upgraded my rotors all round to DBA slotted and added bendix pads at the same time for around about $600. I am happy with the result compared to the standard brakes, but if your after more stopping power (i.e. to pull you up faster) then I would recommend you gor for the Ralliart/AWD front rotor and caliper upgrade. I forget the exact specs, but it would offer you bigger rotors and two spot calipers upfront which would dramatically increase stopping power plus its a straight bolt on conversion. If you do feel like going down that path, best bet would be shop around a few wreckers for those parts as to buy new will cost BIG $$$
EDIT: beat me to it Cthulu lol

Well i have the standard Brakes but i use Ferrodo Green stuff and BOY are they great and believe me they work, Ive had the rotors Glowing red on two occasion and still no brake fade. The brake fulid i use is 5.1 DOT. So after i get Dualies and window tint im upgrading to cross drilled fronts and slotted rear, and BTW ive only got slight brake shudder.

AWD / Ralliart calipers / rotors are the way to go. The stock brakes suck. If you want to go all out, find some EVO Brembo's.

I had a TE with bendix ultimates and slotted rotors. Even with the stock pads the brakes on my AWD are dramatically better. With bendix on the AWD setup they are very good. Brembo setup fitted would be 2-3k, Cummins has this setup.

Which would be better pads for a Ralliart, Bendix Ultimas or EBC Green Stuff for the front, and EBC Black Stuff for the rear?

So what you think ferrodo better pads then my bendix super heavy duty brakes. How much was it to fit the pads on your car and what are the brake pads a certain name are they ferrodo green stuff.

Is it possible to fit 380 Brakes on a 3rd gen? From memory they are pretty massive brakes.

So if I were to ring a wrecker and ask for a GEN3 Ralliart Brake setup, what exactly would I need to do the change over? (i.e. I dont want him selling me heaps of stuff I dont need...)
