What do you guys think of the JL W3's?
Mate of mine may be selling his in a box, once he got his new ride (Skyline R33 M-Spec) about 8-11 months ago he never put it in and is thinking of selling it, I'm thinking of buying it and taking out my 2 x Eclipse Subs. Will ned a new amp though.
Thoughts? (Not a huge Audio Equipment Knowledgeable/Buff fellow)
I've got a JL10W3 and it competes with 12" easily, I also got a reading of 129dB with it getting about 150wrms (inc 6x9 and 6 splits but it did a big job) and it was the top over a few cars with 2 x 12" etc. W3=good.

129dB from one JL10W3? AudioControl, or Term?

^^ More like back yard job.
W3 = SQ. About the only JL subs I would consider to be "loud" would be the W6 & W7 range but when your paying more for them then say the Crossfire & DD subs.....
The W3's are good, got a mate with 2x 12's running sealed boxes running off 700WRMS and it does sound nice but not as loud as you would expect. :D
What eclipse subs are you running at the moment?

yeah, it was with a termlab, with the sensor on the windscreen
but yeah, W3's are good. I wouldn't mind getting one. Definately worth looking into mate.

You must have it in the biggest bloody 6th order bandbass box firing rear loaded straight into you lights about 2cm away. Dam 130db on termilab with only 150WRMS and a 10incher now why didnt I think of that....
Maybe ask for an audition, they will sound good but doubt you will notice a huge difference. Probably better to not know which you are listening to and then decide. :D
