Just wanting some info on changing brake pads. I have never done this but I don't see it being too difficult to do. Is there anything that I need, special tools?

Either Get Someone Thats Qualified To Do It Or Someone That Knows How To Do It Not Worth Killing Someone If They Dont Work

I'd agree with that. Ideally, get someone to do it for you and watch closely. Its not difficult at all if youre mechanically inclined, but brakes are very important, are they not?
Also, its critical that the vehicle is properly supported when the work is being done. A jack is not sufficient.

jack it up and put the wheel under the car so if the jack creeps down it lands on the wheel and its fine.
other than that pads are fiddely, but with a manual you should be fine.

Have posted this question several times, no one has done a picture and walkthrough procedure for it. Although there are a few write ups that you can follow, I advise you to buy the manual if you want to do it yourself. I am passing mine to a proper mechanics as I dun want anyone killed.

Sorry to thread hijack, but when should brake pads be changed? How many km's generally? And what would be the better way to go, EBC Green Stuff + Black Stuff from RPW or get some Bendix Ultimates off my gf's Dad at cost price?
EBC 'Black stuffs' take about 20s min of solid driving to come up to a temperature where they will even think about working. Green stuff are a great pad but way too expensive (around $200-$300 per SET).
Bendix are generally ****e. They glaze very easily and a get noisy quite often. BUT - they are they best from a bad bunch.
As for the original question. Read the manual - if you still feel confident then give it a go but i personally would strongly recommend getting a professional to do it. For a small job like pad changes, your local Ultra Tune/Kmart Tyre & Auto etc etc would be fine and cheapest.

If you don't know what you doing get a mechaninc to do it, but changing pads are preety easy bascialy taking 1 bolt off the caliper lift it and change pads. But if you don't kow what you doing take it to a mechanic..

Changing brake pads is easy on most cars, but having said that if your not confident, give it to a pro.

Brake pads usually have a tab that will squeal to indicate the pads are getting low. But there is no set KM range; it all depends on how you drive and what the pad composition is. Also if you drive hard you will start to feel the brakes will tend to fade allot more easily as the pad material is nearing its end as they build heat allot quicker, and cannot dissipate it as efficiently
Softer pads will usually wear out the quickest, but will be gentle on the rotor, and harder pads will last longer, but will exert more wear on the rotor.

It's any easy job to do if your half way mechanically inclined. If not mechanically inclined - pay someone.
