just got a pic of my 70 mm TB :D ... the pic has the standard butterfly over the new one to give an idea of how much has been taken out,
i havnt recieved the TB back yet but ill be able to test it very soon and am hoping it wont leak any air as other ppl have eveperienec due to the precautions that have been taken..
i know for a fact that 71.3 is as large as these can be taken out, however mine went through the wall at 70mm so a "sleeve" had to be made around it, im pretty sure the new butterfly is brass same as standard
as for what sort of diference am i expecting with this fitted ( asuming it works )... hmmm not sure we all have felt a difference with taking out the innder lip of the tb which made throttle respnse a lil sharper.... so im really not sure
a mate of mine told me if i can average out any mod to 1kw per $100 or better then its worth while .... so i ges if i get an extra kw its worth while hehe...
not really expecting this to make my car walk on water or nothing just really another one of those smaller cheaper mods that help make the more expensive ones work better i ges ..
whill update when it is fitted, and fingers crossed it works :D

asuming it works the TB is already sold/swapped ....the swap helped out all parties involved so was no point selling to someone else just for an extra 20 bucks

no the reason for the welds i believe is it broke through the wall in some places and had to be re-sleaved.. aslong as it works im happy

if i sent my tb off to be 'professionally' ported and they 'broke' it i'd be asking for a new TB not just a 'resleeve' and weld job.

Seeing that the original Butterfly is only 65?mm diam, the new one should give good results combined with other mods.

dyno before and after is a must here.
at very least a handful of drag runs before and after.

Yes, mine helped the topend power of my car a bit and i have alot more mods done to mine than jamies. So itll be interesting to see how his goes.

Was it welded with aluminium rod? Howz the weld taken? We do lots of Aluminium welding esp on boat manifolds, restored motorbikes etc. We just assumed the Mitsu TB was made from a cheap low qual casting slag. Better take it to the shop and try some welds on the one I busted up.
BTW, well done.

dyno before and after is a must here. yeah that is quite a good point may see what i can do next dyno day
Seeing that the original Butterfly is only 65?mm diam, the new one should give good results combined with other mods.yup thats just it "combined with other mods" ... like jason said his car has extensive mods and it made a difference to his car, mines has alot less mods so be interesting to see how it goes assuming it works

that would make me a grade A asshole... a mate from the car club im involved in told me he would have a go at it aslong as i had a spare TB incase he ruined it,
i honestly dont care how it looks it dont matter, i mean look at the pic in EZ boys avatar, dosnt exactly look like the best looking thing in the world but 99% of us would be jumping to have it on our car

Point taken, but I wasn't going to linish and paint something that doesn't work as intended. I have coated the inside of the plenum with Por15 and the unit gets strapped in tomorrow for a fang in my TF manual. There will be before AND after dyno results if happy with the drive tomorrow.

For sure.
I broke traction in straight line acceleration in my AWD today with my new manifold on :D It was dad's first ride in it since it went in on Thursday. He was gobsmacked! Its still pulling hard at 6500!! Makes me wonder if the TB is really a restriction
