It looks like my sensor is way off. It was 38 yesterday, but the sensor told me it was only 19 outside.

Does this sensor do anything important, or is it there to look good?

Not important unless you wanna know how hot it is outside

Today mine went up to 46 degrees C, but i think its about 2 degrees hotter that what it really is outside. Must be the heat of the car, well maybe mine cause its black

fair enough. I didnt know whether it affected the air-condtioners performance or anything important.

Eh, it's under factory warrenty still, so I can get it replaced.

Yeah i have the same problem in my KH every now and then. I find that when the car has been cold in the morning on the way to work and then i get into it in the arvo when its 36 outside, it still displays the temp from the morning. It very slowely goes up. I know the Verada's outside temp goes on an average temp over a time period and it is not instant like a lot of other cars. This is why you jump in them when they have been still and they might say 45 outside then you drive and it takes a while to go down to what it is. A lot of other cars do it instantly as soon as you move and the air flows past the sensor.

I'm guessing that the problem is that the outside temp doesnt reset sometimes when you start the car. I have noticed that if my car says it is say 16 outside when i know it is in the high 30's, i turn the car off and on again and everytime the temp jumps up say 5 - 10 deg. I keep doing this till it stops going up.

As i said, i'm guessing it doesnt reset sometimes when starting the car is started. Mine doesnt always do this but every now and then.
