Anyone interested in a Pewter '03 KJII GTVi with 23,000kms and what would they pay?
Just canvassing to get some ideas....the wife doesn't like to drive it (or magnas in general). She says she feels too low down and can't see enough in them.....
Let me know if you are interested...
Give her some old phone books and tell her to stop whinging about such a beautiful car :D

Thats actually a far better idea than mine.

Thanks for the suggestions.....she is prety sure on this one.
It is a shame as a car like this is uncommon with so few km's on it. She finds the dash too deep and the sills of the windows too high.... i guess, since she will be soon primarily driving it, it's her call. As i say, it is unfortunate.
Again, anyone interested, please let me know. I have also listed this under the for sale thread, but though since everyone here has such an appreciation for the 3rd gen  , i would give them the opportunity aswell.

Redbook is crap....everyone knows that! A car is worth what someone else will pay for it, and people pay more than that for TH Executives all the time (rightly or wrongly), let alone higher spec. models. It is like some sh!tty dealer ploy, to pull out the redbook and go.... written by dealer for dealers
if i were rich (as in my own money) id buy it off u hands down, i really want a gtv (more so to a gtvi coz theyre better :P) i been lookin carefully at their prices and i was hopin that the 380 would drop the prices to sumfin that i can afford, maybe in a few more years... damn, the timing is bad

I have found that the upper end of the Redbook private sale price is what you can get for a clean, well maintained, mint version of any car.
I will go cry in my coco pops, if I really believed Redbook when it says my car is worth about 12,000. Mines a 7/02 TJMY02 (Series 1.5) VR-X s/auto, in mint condition. With about 60,000km. $12,000 is all I'd get from a private sale. $15K if I was lucky.
Are you sure you are not just sore about what your GTVi is worth, 2 to 3 years down the track and 3 models since? :)
Check this selection of private > sales (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_results?price_min=&price_max=&category_id=3&search_type=21&make_id=3&model_id=6&badge_id=39013&badge_id=27565&keyword=&state_id=-1&selected_region=0&search_postcode=&search_distance=25®o_vehicle_id=&cs_body_id=&drive_id=&km_min=&km_max=&year_min=&year_max=&door_num=&cs_trans_id=&cylinder_num=&engine_low=&engine_high=)
at Carsales.com.au $18 to 24K, most around 20K.
Then see what dealers wants for a KJ Xi.

Have a look at Redbook's prices, earlier in this thread. :)

Not really "sore" as such....but as i said a car is worth what someone will pay for it....and (as said) people pay more than the figures you qoted for lesser vehicles in the magna/verada range all the time (a quick search on "gen 3" forum will tell you that). Just because "the Redbook says" doesn't mean it is gospel....it's only a dealership tool (not offence to and dealer staff). In my opinion (and, i dare say, alot of other people on this forums) the TJ/KJ (particularly series II) are a far better looking vehicle than the two models that followed (TL/KL & TW/KW) and therefore, the last of the real Magna's/Verada's. I would argue that for this reason....in the particular Mitsubishi Used Vehicle market they would hold their value better, as they are, visually (in my opinion),a more desireable vehicle (in comparison to other Magna/Verad models).

tell the mrs not to whinge...the car is perfect in height for me... as well as width of the car..i have driven my dad's EL falcon..so much wider and lower...feels very uncomfortable..what she should complain about is the parking and u-turns...that can be a bit of a trick...
