Allright, my KS Verada Xi now has me in a really bad mood....
Was doing laps of the main street of mount gambier, and I noticed my ABS lights was on.... and then about 700 meters down the road I noticed tacho was droping really fast so I went into closest park (taking off with foot FLAT absoutly no balls).... rolled in there as it stalled (gay no p/s) and had the RAA come out.... he checked the charge it was putting out and was only 11V....
Yay, I'm in Mount Gambier currently.... Come from Adelaide.... so I've gott get new bushes put in my alt and possibly new battrey.... will be funn trying to find a V6 2nd gen in a wreckers here.... so as you can tell not ***n happy with the KS, and repcits show it had a brand new alt put in it in 8/03 so it shouldn't be ***d.... GRRR! NOT HAPPY MITSUBISHI!
ohwell.... got relaible? NUP!
I was told to replace both batt and alt....

Dude, its got nothing to do with the KS, its a typical fault between all cars. Wherever it got the alt and battery done could have been dodge, OR the person who owned it before you had a big sound system which had nearly killed it before you did.

eh, I still pay myself out over owning a mitsubishi I used to hate magna's untill about 8 months ago....
Big stereo = I got in it now.... before I got it, stock deck with aftermarket 6x9 and 6"....
wouldn't suprsise me if the place that replaced the alt done a dogey job.... Hahah was done at agistino mitsubishi, I took it there for somthing and found them to be as un-helpfull as sin so I sorta told the lady what I was thinking of their customer service ehtics :)

Chances of the alternator being "new" = 30% lol
Even for a late 2003 unit it can happen
It is one of the more likely faults you are going to encounter as TR-Envy said regardless of manufacturer.. very few of the cars I have owned have lived alternator replacement free. Oh and it is pretty normal practice to get a reco unit.
Frustrating as it is, that car hasn't cost you much at all though really to date has it?

Do you go to the one your elizabeth or nailsworth?
There was a lady in the service center at nailsworth....
IMO Portside Mitsubishi would be the better of the 2 (and only 5 mins from my place :D)
