Hi,

My car is apporaching 100,000 km so I've just had the timing belt changed ($350 at Ultratune for those interested), changed the rear bank of plugs myself and done all the standard stuff (air filter, oil change, coolant etc). Occasionally the gears 'crunch' a little which I suspect is the clutch. Anyone got any hot tips on adjusting the clutch on this model? Thanks in advance

Ryan.

i dont think its the clutch, i got a bad clutch and i only occasionaly get a crunch, it just the clutch pedal not fully depressed or maybe synchros. i never had trouble with my standard clutch till i dida huge burn out, only crunched when i tried to shift to quick.

you probably need some new fluid in the transmission. so long as your clutch is fully disengaging then it shouldnt need changing.

Thanks guys. Maybe not? I had the transmission fluid replaced when the belt was done and to be honest it seems OK aside from the odd crunchy change. My worry was casued by reversing up a V steep driveway with a trailer on last year - I stopped when the smoke came out! After a few hours, things had cooled off and it seemed OK but I thought I may have done some damage in there...
