Anyway i have a 12V 1.3AH battery that runs my neons.

i planned to connect my audio system to this same battery

i finally found some good dell PC speakers which are suitable.
i have disassembled the speakers to build new boxes to mount to my bike.

i was hoping to use the exsisting circuitry ( volume, amp......)

but the power rating on the speakers is 12V 500mAH or (1/2 AH)

am i right in guessing that if u connect the battery to the circuitry i will fry it ???

if thats the case how can i reduce the amps without changing the voltage.

Cheers in advance.

No mate it wont fry it, the speaker rating is what the speaker power supply will draw (500mA) the battery rating is what it will supply. It'll work just fine, as for battery life, with what you've got you should get a coupla hours or so, experience will tell ya. :D

As a rough guide the battery will supply 1.3 Amps for 1 hour or 2.6 Amps for 1/2 hour or 0.65 Amps for 2 hours if you follow the math. :D

yeh me to loll
it was a capacitor and a little chip ( black rectangle thing with **** loads of wires coming outta it )

that went boom

When a capacitor goes poof its usually an electrolytic and they normally only go bang when they are connected backwards. That can be a lotta fun when its a big bugger at higher voltage, it goes ****ING BANG lol

haha yeah i remember doing this in electronics in school. **** loads of fun.

but i didnt solder in the capacator it was already installed in the PCB as part of the standard circuitry

im just gunna wire up my little 20W amp and see how that goess.
