i want to re trim my interior. ok so wats the problem everyone says? just do it, right?

well to start with 3k to put some cow skin in my car is not justifyable, i'd rather be spending that cash on my motor. so i thought i'd just re trim the middle parts of my seats and door trimmings in a dark blue velour, with a couple of emblems thrown in for good measure.

so i got a quote from willshire motor trimmers in adelaide and its still gonna cost over 1k! damn biatch!

anyways im gonna get some other quotes elsewhere but i jst got a coupla qu's first.

1. has anyone here done a similar re trim in their car and was it this expensive.

2. has anyone here attempted to re trim their own car and is it hard? my mum used to sew for a living so i'm thinkin i might bail her up to do it. is it that hard? wats involved exactly?

cheers for any advice or tips or recommendations of a good trimmer in adelaide, i'd muchly appreciate it. :D

bro...its easy if u know wot ya doin...

I did my door inserts and seat inserts in dark blue vinyl. looked the goods...Do the labour your self. ie. pull out the doors to get the inserts off...and pull out the seats. will help alot...my old man is an upholstera so i did the labour n he sewed it all 2gether.
well worth it in the end. I owned a TE magna by the way.

wots envolved...

the doors are easy!

seats are a few peices of fabric sewed together...make sure u get the right sies thow...and ya fabric is all facing the same way. The fabric on the seats is held on by U bolts. Which are hard to get out...and are even harder to put bak in. You actualy need a special tool which i doubt an auto upholstera would lend...
