When i first got my 12" sub put in my car which was about 4 weeks ago the rear vision mirror started to shake which was to be expected. But now not only does it shake but it makes a loud azz rattling noise, which makes me turn the volume down cuz it anoys the crap outta me! Does anyone know of anything that will stop it from making rattling noises? i was thinking about putting an elastic band around it cuz when i touch it 2getha from the top and the bottom it stops but i don't really want an elastic band around the mirror! That would look gay! Has this happened to anyone else and if so what did u do about it? Any suggestion welcome?

Maybe a fine bead of clear silastic around the edge between the mirror and the frame, put some maskin tape on, apply the silastic and take the tape off straight away. Mite work :D

ice_box, have you tried tightening the screws?

shove some bluetack and or cardboard in the gap between mirror and windscreen

well I got my 2 12" subs 1 week and 1 day ago, and my mirror FELL OFF yesterday, ****in pro :doubt:

I have a couple of mates that work at mitsubishi who said that the factory glue they use on the mirrors is horse **** and that they will get me some of the stuff they use to reglue all the ones that come in, which they recon will last longer then the car will.

mines fallen off 3 times now, all with different glue, ive given up and dont have it any more haha

The music isn't even loud when i starts to rattle, the bass just vibrates from the boot to the front window! I'll try a few of your suggestions....cheers guys!

hm.. i dunno if u have the same thing, but the tr's have a screw at the back to tighten the mirror joint..

the vibration loosened the mirror soo badly that it would vibrate and make a noise when i acclerated or was at idle... I got a screwdriver and tightened that screw extremely hard, hurt my hand.. but it worked. No more noise :D

try that if u got this screw there..

they changed the mirrors on the TH-TL's, so unfortunately most things that fix the rattles on TF and earlier dont work :(

the only way i've found to stop mine is hold the whole thing FIRMLY in my hand, it definately sounds like something on the inside is loose.

i've bought a new one to replace it but cant get the standard one to come off!! has anyone done it? apparently its easy to crack windscreens trying.

I've wrapped some really thick rubber bands around the mirror end of the support arm. It's as good as someone holding it now :) This has stopped almost all of the annoying sounds it could produce.

borrow xzbt's sound system for a week and it will come off. mine rattled too... i just slid my seat back some more and turned it up a bit.
