Hi all.
After much fun and games and a bit of extraction of hard earned cash from my wallet after a service, my mech. has told me that theres an idle problem with my TF. He seems to think that its the ISC, but he's not sure, and I didn't pay him to spend all day trying to work out if it is the ISC or not.

After removing the ISC myself, and throwing a multimeter on it, it reads about 42 ohms per side, instead of the 28 - 33 that gregorys says it should. Does anyone know if this means its rooted, or is it more likely that theres still a heap of crap in my throttle body? My mechanic cleaned out the throttle body butterfly, but I don't think he stripped the whole thing to clean it, thus there could well be heaps of crap in it.

I don't really want to go buy another ISC if it turns out its not the problem. Can anyone advise?

What I'm really asking here, is what happens when the ISC (Idle Speed Control motor) ****s itself. Does it go open circuit, or does the resistance increase marginally?

hold a screw driver on it and put the handle end to your ear get someone to turn on the key you should here it moving if not its buggered

Well, I pulled the thing out and turned the ignition on and off, and sure enough, it moved. I'm guessing that its not buggered as it does move, but I'm still suspicious.

42 ohms is close enough to 28 - 33 ohms. Stepper motor coils usually go open ( very high reading) when stuffed.
