Hey there, just curious if there are any customised taillights (clear, Altezza) for TF. also is it true that the clear tailights are illegal?

Depending on your body colour of your car some would look great and some would look horrible, these taillights can be bought off ebay easily.
IMO they dont look cool like those for TJ-TLs.

To me they dont look illegal, just not up to standard quality. Cant be compared to the Lancer's or the ones for the TJ-TLs atm. Some people have tinted them which then becomes illegal. But its all up to you. do a search and I am sure some members here have these installed. Ask someone to photoshop them for you on your car if you still have doubts.

The next thing would be the clear side indicators, Which I can buy them under $30 bucks. Didnt really like those on ebay, though they look more like the original but I prefered it to be sporty.

something about they have to have defined colours for indicators and brakes, not just plain white.

they are illegal. but ive seen a few other vehicle has 'em i.e most utes all they hav is a clear tails as well, same as a mini cooper. i used to hav 1 and i never got pulled over. few times cop sat on my back probably measurin' my speed but other that did'nt hav issue at all

I was about to ask why illegal.
But that answers everything. I didnt realise that but thought they didnt look good anyway compared to the TJ-TL ones. Think is better to stay with your own originals and mod other things first.

i used a double sided tape i bought a small rectangular shape reflector

the clear tail lights for the TE/TF are not ADR approved and i don't think putting in a red reflector will change that. check with an engineer. there are new aftermarket lexus style tail lights for the TJ but i am not sure if they are ADR approved. they look like they could be, just check with whoever you buy them off.

When a cop was going over my car, he started talkin about the tail lights being illegal and i said 'oh really? why so?' and then he said 'oh no, im pretty sure these are actually legal' (something to do with some code being written on them :confused: And then carried on to the next things :doubt:

the TJ is a different light, as you know the TE's have a horizontal indent in the boot meaning the TJ will fit but look ridiculous

Which every case the TJ-TLs are so much bloody nicer and I am pretty sure those are ok. From a glance, a normal person would say that the TJ-TLs ones are legal. I would argue with the cops that these were OEM from mitsubishi and they wont know what to do(If you were stopped for the TJ-TLs). Whereas the TE-TH ones I see why they are not legal and anyway whoever made those should have bothered to do them properly. I would have definately gotten a pair if they even come close to the quality oh those for the TJ-TL ones now on ebay.

Oh btw, I have smoked side indicators! Something I have not seen on Magnas yet? Or probably some have done it themselves. Will show some pics maybe tomorrow or so.

Legal? hmm.... lets put it this way, some cars dont even have side body indicators. I think as long as you are flashing orange (amber), you should be fine.

i have wanted a set of nice repeters for ages, i just dont know which ones i can use on them (magnas)
i thought that VY/VZ repeaters might fit as they are similer in size and shape.

These are similiar ones to the Lancer's 2001 side indicators but slightly better in the exterior look. As a lot have known, these indicators will fit perjaro, Lancers and magnas. I bought them from Singapore for $28.00. I do not know how much shipping will cost from here to Aust, as I am here on long vacation. I only be back in Perth in Feb. There are slight problems for those lights, the company that made hem didnt make a proper fit to the light bulbs. I had to file the hole a little to make them fit, but its an esay job. These indicators only come with two orange bulbs and no wiring, means you are expected to still have yours intact.

If you guys are crazy about them, I see if I can ship them cheaply to you. I only know that I hardly seen these in the Australian market and only seen the clear ones. When I am back, thats it, I wont be able to get these for you guys.

Ok guys! I found the distributor for these clear indicators in Singapore.

Clear indicators (Lancer type with wiring and bulbs) =$20.00 Looks like the ones posted here except is clear not smoked (Tinted)

Smoke indicators (does not come with wiring and requires a bit of sanding around the edges) = $24.00

I am pissed as I bought mine for $35.00 in Perth which is the exact same thing.

WA guys can pickup from me but I hope I do not get too many as I wont carry a lugguage full of indicators. Maybe some of you can suggest how to ship these cheaply? I am thinking either just bubble pack or in a box?

yes you have to change the boot as im guessing youve been told in your other post, try looking at all the posts that come up in your search because i know for a fact this has benn covered on 3 seperate occasions

If you want to fit the TJ lights to a TH or TF they will physicaly fit and the boot will close that's all easy. The hard part is you need the wireing loom and globe sockets for the TJ they have smaller globes, you can get them from Mitsu parts but you have to get the whole tail light too for $280 or call around wreckers to find them. So I went hunting and found there were none in Wollongong and one set in the whole of Sydney and guess who just baught that set.

yeh they physically fit, but they look stupid cos the boot is indented and the lights arnt, so summing that up, it will look rather toolish

Ok while evrybody is on bout tail lights, im gonna throw sumthing new in. Skyline Sillhoute lights in a TP?? ive been told, but is it possible? It would look crap as well?? just a thought! also i guess altezza lights dont exist for a TP, but if they do......let me know!
