Looks good, but you know if you're running a DOHC motor in that you top out at 9k rpms and redline at 7 dont you?

All I did was take off the original faces, put them on my scanner, scanned them at 100% at 600DPI (the highest my ****ty scanner can do lol) and then did the hours of photoshop work to make the layers exactly right.

Once that was done, it was simple smooth sailing, just colour in the colour you want, print them out on high gloss photo film (it's like a thin white plastic) and cut out with a razor or something very sharp.

I just put them over the old faces and they work great. They let enough light through the white to be seen clearly at night as well.

I'd love to change the dash lights to blue LED's to compliment the red dials at night though.

I'm going to see if I can find another cluster and I'll make the scans again, I lost them.

Oh and getting the cluster out is easy. Pull the trip meter needle out (just yank it), then undo the two screws at the top of the cluster surround, then slide the surround out top first, then there's just 2 screws on each side of the cluster, and it'll pull out.

haha cutting them out in photoshop took forever. But worth it in the end.

I'm just pissed I lost the scans as I had them saved to a cd but the cd was severely scratched :(

cut out in photoshop?

i though the little lines were already white?

i was thinking you just changed the color, then cut out everything with a knife.......but now that i think of it that sounds ridiculous :)

so basically the white is still there, but the lights are powerful enough to glow through the paper..................ja?

lol yes thats right. I didnt cut out anything physically except for the parts around the odometer and the trip meter. Oh and the dials themselves lol

Since they aren't ADR approved I would feel quite bad selling them.

What I will do, however, is scan them again and make the scans available to download. You WILL need adobe photoshop to view them and the files WILL be massive as they will be layered and already cutout etc.

But then you can put your own designs in and print them out on whatever material you want. I highly recommend the canon high gloss film.

Oh and yes I know that, just that I didnt think of that when I made the dials lol...and it'd look cool going so far in the red..well..yellow line lol

would the dials still line up properly on a 2.6 4cyl Ts?

Yep, everything barre the speedo, I'll need a 200km/h speedo for the 2.6

And with Autos you have to cut out the auto gear section of the dial in the temp section as I don't scan that part, I just leave it blank.

Actually the redline between SOHC and DOHC motors is almost exactly the same spot, they just bunch the numbers closer together.

Either way, looks pretty good. As for changing the color of the bulbs, LRuff has made a write up of this over on the DOG forums:

http://www.diamanteowners.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73977&pid=127333&st=0&#entry127333

Cheap trick :D
