Hi,
In the TJ service manual, what point is the timing chain meant to be changed? Is it 90 or 100,000?

there is no service interval at 100000....you can do it at 90000kms or stretch it...(well i did on my TH) to 105000kms....this way it may save a bit of money whiles the car is there getting serviced. but definitley not longer...too risky.

I just purchased a SERIES 2 TJ VR-X from a dealer, Its done 75,000 and i made sure he replaced the timing belt at his cost....500 bucks ...so i suppose i saved some money and a potential catastrophy. I'd would do it sooner rather than later!

Yeah spot on, the belt is supposed to be done at 100,000 but as the services are done at 90,000 and 105,000 most people opt to get it done at the 90 rather than the later. I also think coz the plugs are done at the 90 half the engine is apart anyway so they just go all the way.
