Well this is my first hot summer of owning a my TL. And I am just wondering how tolerant Magnas are to hot weather. Especially now these days of summer, for instance in Melbourne the whole week is looking to be 30+. And driving around with Aircon on, just makes me think its too much for the car. I dont have any probs at the moment, the temp. gauge stays exactly on centre once car is fully warmed up. I havent noticed any changes, even on hot days. Im reading in the manual that the whole Climate system should be left on Auto. And when i do almost everytime, the aircon kicks in.
So as i said im just wondering how well TLs handle the heat, and having the aicron runnnig a lot, is there any dramas later on, or anything i should look out for.
Cheers

It Handles it really well. Don't have any problems, no difference in power and I have adjusted all the vents, except for the LH Passenger to hit me directly in the face with cold air. Awesome.
Auto really justs adjusts fan speed, you'll notice if the car is hot and you turn it on, it'll be on maximum speed, and then slow down when it cools down.
I never leave it on auto all the time, most of the time i dont need it, i just turn it from off to auto when i want cool air, a/c comes on. i leave mine on at 20 degress, what do you leave it on at? also for you does it take 15-30 seconds to really notice cool air coming out

It a (virtually) brand new car with new technology. It is designed to run with the a/c on in very hot weather.

if it wasnt capable of handling temperatures that are expected by weather....it wouldnt even come off the factory line.
sorry to be so blunt...but if a new car cannot handle this...who's going to buy it?

No problems here! But tint it and its much easier to live with and you dont get drivers arm tan. Its a car designed for Australia one of the hottest countries in the world. Most manufacturers do a lot of testing with tow dynos in the desert to make sure the car can handle the heat, same with the cold.

Been in Brisbane for 12 years with 3 magna's, never hd an issue with heat or air con, tinting a real plus to keep car cool when not driving. most of my mats have commodores and falcons and my magna is better than all of them

They are fine with high temps. I tow a 2600kg boat behind my KH up to lake eildon regularly through the black spur in 40+ temps with the AC flat chat and the motor working flat out with my foot to the floor most of the way through the spur and it doesnt have a problem at all. Never budged past half on the guage. Try doing that in a falcon or commodore and they will boil in no time at all even the new ones.
Its just worth making sure you keep to the maintenance record and get the coolant flushed every 2 years or whatever they state keeping the cooling system in top order.
