Ive got a set of 2 sound sensitive cold cathodes in my pc atm, but they never get used, so i was thinkin i could put them to better use in my magna.. will i need any extra inverters etc? or will I be able to simply pull apart the molex plug and wire em into behind the ciggy lighter with a fuse?

You can just solder then into the wires behind the ciggy. I did it with my EL dials. Dont worry about the fuse, as i think the ciggy has a fuse already.

do wat i did, but not completely wat i did, goto tandy and get urself a cigarette lighter plug and lead, hook them up on a terminal block and u'll be right... thing i did was accidentally cross polarised them and blew my fuses on my ccfl's

so the voltage etc.. should be fine? keeping in mind they are from a pc?

also, is the ashtry light in 2nd gens fused? i plan to wire them into that and put the invertors and switches in the center console

the ccfls should be 12v, ur ciggy lighter is only 12 v, oh and if ur lookin at the leads, look at the ones that specifically say 12v on the back
