1. Hope you bought the "correct" tranny oil from "un-named dealer" as it needs to be the correct mitsubishi automatic fluid. Standard generic stuff wont work. Cause big problems

2. The Auto boxes on the 3.5L TH onward dont have an external filter to the best of my knowledge. At least I can say I could'nt find one nor could my mechanic. Apparently, there is some type of internal filter which is meant to last the life of the transmission as the only way of replacing it is to dismantle the box :bash:

Dont know the month but its a 1999..

The filter is nest to the battery.. top left hand corner of the battery under the standard CAI intake if you are looking at it.. if you aint got a filter you will see a gap there..:)

In that case no need for me to have another look as thats exactly where it sits in older models and I dont have it there....so I am assuming that sometime in 99 there must have been a revision of the auto box. Mines a december 99 build date.

you first have to discharge the the fluid by taking of the right hand cooler hose and starting engine in neutral(about 4.5 litres will come out). manual says the drain plug it is at the bottom of the transmission case...about 1 litre will come out of that point.
