Hi guys,
My parents have a 5 speed TR magna, and it pops out of 5th gear under load. I have a manual TP magna for parts, are the gearboxes interchangable? What mods are required to swap gearboxes?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is the TR a 4 cylinder or a V6?
If it's a 4 the boxes are interchangable.

If you haven't already done it I'd get it done. The 5th is a sort of add on for the gearbox and sits off the end bearing and that caused the movement on 5th. Mine did the same thing and as I didn't get it fixed straight away the vibrations from the box transferred thru to the crank and killed the thrust bearing.... so box fix is much cheaper than bottom end rebuild!

had the same problem with my TR Magna...kept jumping out of 5th. The 5th gear syncro was stuffed. Had 5th gear syncro replaced in the gearbox and it hasn't jumped out of 5th gear since...problem fixed
