Yep. It's not what you know but who you know...

A Chrissy present I was transporting broke my RCA cables off at the plug on my monoblock

So, after ringing FHRX (was close by) with no answer from Marty (It's okay mate, we all gotta have time off), I trundled off to my favourite JB's store. The reason it's my favorite JB's is that the Assistant Store Manager's son lives under my roof, and I get about as dicounted prices as they can do......

So, I bought a 5m pair of Stinger Helix RCA's for my sub. Sweet.

Then I decided that since I had to pull the dash apart again, I might as well replace the other RCAs. So I grabbed a 4 channel set of Stinger Hyper RCA's for that.

Then, I thought I should really get a 0 Guage wiring kit with all my voltage problems...... So I got that.

And then I needed a 0ga -> 3x 4ga distro block too. So I grabbed one of those too.

Now the 0 guage wiring kit goes for $179, the Stinger Hyper 4ch RCAs for about $65, the Helix 2ch RCAs for around $57, and the distroblock for $25.

I walked outta there with a stupid look on my face, and change for $190.....
Tim, Magnat, Megatron, etc - you guys DO NOT want to know what I paid for the 0ga kit.

So anyway, I be :dancin: and need to install all this tomorrow.

Go see Glen at Cambelltown (NSW) JB's... tell him you are in the Magna Club and Joel sent ya. He will look after you a bit more than usual....Just don't expect my discounts though....

well, another fun day pulling apart your dash, and, putting it back together just to realise you got 4 left over screws :shifty:

tell us how good the 0ga goes

What, you going to march me in at gunpoint Paul??? :bowrofl:

You got enough problems - get your stuff sorted first.....use my discount for the UPGRADES that will follow in about 12 months time lol

hahah UPGRADES.......that money will be needed for FUEL.........no upgrades for a while............my dads initial system cost him $1300 (HU, Stacker, 2 channel amp, and 6*9s) 13 years ago, my initial system will be of rough price, and then i wont be changing it!

thats why, im doing it right the first time, so there is nothing to upgrade (hmmm those DD subs looks beefy  )

the only thing i would possibly upgrade in 12 months would be my wheels :)

gay ebay...only got 4ga atm.....

well, i better start hunting some wiring kits!

tell us how much of a difference the 0ga makes ey?

eek

Sorry Eek, I know it WAS your birthday the other day and all, but....

Make sure you haggle on the price of the kits... there is almost 100% markup on the wholesale price. Try to buy something else and screw them down.....$140 should be in your grasp.

So, after ringing FHRX (was close by) with no answer from Marty (It's okay mate, we all gotta have time off)

Like I've said before; we correspond with 300-500 people a day using various methods of communication. If you cannot get an answer on my phone it means it's in use (it's on 24 hours a day). Sending me an SMS or ringing back later is what most people do if I don't initially answer. ;)

Yeah, I tried ringing a few times, but still couldn't get through. I thought you may have been taking a few days off, in which case it is totally understandable.

I almost thought of dropping by your place (or the shop, but I don't have the shop's address) but thought against it due to the time of year. I'm not one to just drop into someone's house.

As you know, I was away from home, so email was not an option. Maybe I need to get a lappy and a Wired account..... But in all, it doesn't matter, because:

I will need a few more things for my wiring, will email you a shopping list for prices once I have worked out what I need. Just a couple of lengths of 4guage, 0ga battery terminals, connectors, fused distro block, that sort of thing.

Will do some reasearch of the part numbers and I will fire you off an email.

Mitsi, when you get a price from him regarding the terminals, can you PM me the price?

i havent seen 2/0ga battery terminals for the life of me!

2guage are easy to find. Look at strathfield, JB's should have them too. Most Autobarn's have them. Jaycar stock 'Amp-King" brand... it's in their catalog.

It's the 0 guage battery terminals that are harder to find at a retail level. Usually have to go to a Stinger Specialist for these....

I did reply to your PM dude, didn't you get it?

On another issue guys, don't just go for the cheapest cables around either. There is quite a difference in cables between the good and the bad and the differences are not what many people initally think of. I can elaborate if necessary. :)

Oh dear god NO!!!! lol :P lol

While your looking at terminals etc at Marty's I'd recomend having a look at the Audison Connections range. From what I've seen its definately the goods & the terminals look better than Stingers IMO

I also emailled my requirements Marty.... yet to hear back from you. Either PM or email.

Would like to get my hands on something soon as I need to take the interior right out (seats, carpet, trims, dash etc) and do it all at one, and properly.

Cheers

Edit: Just re-sent the mail
