At the turn of the last financial year I tried to trade my TN Magna Elite wagon on a TH 3.5 Altera Wagon. The car dealer needed oxygen from laughing so much, he then asked me how much I would pay him to take the TN. OK she leaked from the windscreen, all 4 engine mounts are frogged, the wiper switch is broken, the AC compressor is seized. But apart from a few little things she had a great Engine and Transmission, I mean what was his problem.

The deal on the Altera was good so as you can see by my siggy I bought it. My partner being a truck driver having just moved from Mildura to Melbourne to live with me needed a car and he thought the TN was fine. After a couple of months he needed "his own car", you know how men are.... they like to think they are in control. He bought a VN Commode.

Well my brothers partner was driving around in Mums old series 1 Bluebird LX, which is a nice car, reliable as anything but gutless and with the serious rust in the roof not a car to have in Dromana where they live. Considering I couldn't give the TN away even to a Magna wrecker I offered it to her. She loves it, on the freeway to and from Melbourne it leaves the old Datto for dead in both power and refinement. BTW the Datto is sitting in our driveway as Garry my partner has "plans" to "do it up"....

Now yesterday my Sister drove over from Adelaide in her new 2005 Verada AWD. They couldn't get the thing under 10ltrs per 100 Kms though. My Altera wagon sits on about 8 in country driving..... heavy heap of ****e the AWD is.

Now all we need to do is get Mum into a Magna and all the girls in our family will be Magna girls.....

i get mine down to just under 9 on the longer drives. you'd have to be pushing it to get 10 - i know that 'cause that's what my wife gets.

That doesn't seem unusual for the AWD's! I get down to 9.5l/100km ADL-MEL if its just me in the car. Underload, it goes up. The same trip, with 3 people and the rest of the car filled with camping gear - just over 10l/100km. In Tassie - 12l/100km in the country (no different from in Hobart  ). But that may be due to my driving :P

Good to see a magna family. I've only just come back to mitsubishi recently, after many happy years driving/pushing my sigma (until 2003)
