went into autobarn yesterday looking for some cheap and nasty speakers so that I could have some crappy rear fill until i could get money for some decent splits...what I walked away with was $10 80w max 6" 2 ways....that sound far better than the stock speakers.

Im going back today to get another pair for the front, and a set for the corrola :D

if this is how much improvement I get from a 10 buck pair of two ways, I cant wait till I start buying splits etc.!

Cheap n Nasty FTW!!!

i recon if you got some really high end splits ie 1000+, you would still feel better about the 10 buck speakers. lol

nice work! kinda reminds me of the 1st car speakers i ever bought.... i think i got 2x10" and a 12" tornado subs from strathfield... totalled about $40 i think.... had them sitting on the bedroom floor, no boxes, just wired straight into my "home theatre" (that was just a 20 year old amp with about 6 speakers hanging off it :D i knew nothing of ohms back then)

I was thinking about buying a crap sub and box for about 30 bucks then putting my amp onto it and see how long it lasts. :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

I was thinking about buying a cheap sub and seeing how much damage occurs when you drop it off the roof of a house

THAT REMINDS ME! i've still got a cheap ass sub sitting in the shed begging to be hooked up to 100x its power handling :D would it do damage to the amp if i decide to try and fry the sub?

oh, and SUBishi, strangely nothing blew up, got hot or anything! the amp was still working fine last year when i think it got binned (my little sis was using it for a while) if i remember it was a "morse" amp, with Sansui speakers that my parents got given as a wedding present, about 25 years ago!!
