well as i placing new stock on the shelves, i noticed a set of indicator lights that are clear in color, yet flash amber, this reminded me of GRDPuck and GTRICE's little mods.
so i double checked to make sure it was the right wattage, which it was, so i got em today and decided to "place" :P them in.
well its not as easy as it looks.
to get the side indicator out....well....i just touched mine and it litterally fell out, so that part was nice and easy, getting the globe out etc was a Piece of pi55....i said gee this shouldnt take too long.....
getting that son of a bit*h little orange piece out was so bloody frustrating, i consulted GRDPuck for some advice but i was going about it the right way, so i kept going, i just yelled and screamed and swore some more......followed by some more yelling, screaming, and swearing.
are you angry you just lost that $100 bill?
are you angry your girlfriend just broke up with you?
vent your rage by getting the orange cover out.....its sure to cure the rage.
hahahha, well heres the result...FREEKEN HOT if you ask me!

cheers mate
you cans see in the pic how the larger headlight is new, and how nice it looks, and how the opposite one looks very cloudy, SideWinder - rip out ya headlights (globes out) and slap em in the oven to soften the glue, take apart the lens and give it a REAL GOOD CLEAN OUT - then when the inside is clean just shove em in the oven again to soften the glue, stick em back together and hello shiney headlight!
I like the clear indicators i think i'll do it and my headlights are foggy too so i should clean em but im too lazy so i might just tell ppl i like em that way .
Thanks for the tip mate i wanted clear indicators but i didnt realy look, now i dont have to.:D

i'd do the headlights as then your car looks like it hasnt aged at all........i see alot of EL's and ford's in general with extreamly foggy headlights and it just detracts from the whole car.
i will give this a go later on in the week when i wake up early ( lol ).
im not sure what to clean the inside with AS YET but ive got JIF, Lights Cutting Compound, Medium Cutting Compound, scrubbing pads etc, so one of those SHOULD do the trick, if not ill go down to autobarn to see if they have a special plastic cleaner.
D@VE - is your car color coded?

Lookin good mate, hope I was of some help (or at least assurance that you were on the right track) ;)
As I said b4 - this is one of my favourite cheap mods for the 2nd gen.
Also interesting to see how you cleaned your headlights. - didn't know that.
As for the side indicators, I considered clear ones like some others on AMC, but when I looked at the colour of our cars and tinted the rear tail lights, I chose to tint the orange side indicators - I'm happy with the result.

haha yeah mate you were a big help, if i didnt ask you what to do i wouldnt of gone at it again, luckily what i WAS doing was right:P
i was thinking of tinting the sidey's, but after seeing GTRICE's car im going clear. like i said im aiming for a car similar to his, and seeing as his is color coded it helps to see what the final result will look like....
ill be tinting my rears, and garnish, and then adding the chrom lettering from the TS over the top of the TR garnish to make it stand out.....should look good :)
when you get your car color coded Puck it'll look awesome :)

Car looks nice and clean. Just that colour reminds me of my granfathers car. It needs to be metallic black, Pewter, Blue, whatever. Oh well.

im a very good driver
when i get time for the CAi ill do that aswell....

you think you're a good driver but you you're not really, 99% of drivers on there p's are still fairly inexperienced
i've had my license for almost three yars now, done a defensive driving course and i would say im still not overly experienced at drivign, although i do have a clue what do in most situartion
[TUFFTR]
03-01-2006, 02:52 PM
ja ja i know....
im not experianced but im not a dikhead or anything and im a safe driver....
and i will be doing a defensive driving course aswell..
anyhoo

']im a very good driver
That's what I thought when I was 17 :P
Off P's in 2 months, and now I know how wrong I was. Even after MURCOTTS Adv. Driving lessons and the odd handbrake every time i was driving alone at night time... :D It still took a good 3 years of driving to really trust myself in a split second hairy situation.
You will find, your first year, you will just accelerate hard, try drag a few things at lights, but only up to speed limit. Nothing your mother wouldnt do really.
Second year you will want to see how fast you can go around corners before your car starts to slide (I did). Then I did a driving course (3 all together) after I had learn to control the car decently on tarmac at certain speeds. I lost it once, was a 50 dollar repair, i consider myself lucky.
Third year you will be sick of dragging, burnouts, slides, because you will have done it all and it will be boring to you. Its getting to be that way for me now. (just the sliding bit, I still like to take Freeway Enterances and off ramps fast to get some tyre chirping :P)
Then you will be off your P's, in one piece and fully aware of how easy it is to loose control of your car and the hazards involved with doing silly things / even driving normally.
Why you think insurance is so high? Almost every P plater does these to a certain degree. In particular the guys. Girls dont because the're too scared, hence have less accidents, hence are deemed 'better' drivers statistically and hence get lower insurance premiums.
So what am I now? Fresh off my P's almost, and it will take until i'm 25 at least to get sick of cars as a leisure and have them become a shell that i take to work everyday. Sad but it happens.
Its all good :P

i know mate, i know
all in due time
whos getting a set of clear side indicators of nexus here?
i just ordered mine
the clear one that arent next to the headlights? I want some but i got other prioritories. By the way i bought the globes for my front indicators but i cant get them out! I havent looked that hard at em but, a little hint where the clips and everything are would be a big help (my black mitsubishi logo looked great but has to be repainted as it had lumps in it:cry:).
How much for the side indicators u ordered?

ok, for the front indicators, if your reading this now go outside and do it, its Sooo simple, just give them a little wiggle and they should just simple fall out!
(these are the ones next to the headlights were talking about yeah?)
then theres the orange cover.....as you know....just yell, swear, scream, pull, scream, swear, swear, swear, yell and pull until they come out (requires alot of breaking aswell inside the houseing, it just wont come out in a insgle piece)
clear side indicators (the ones next to the drivers door) were only $26, delivered and registered post aswell, you cant even buy them that cheap on EBAY and this was including postage....absolute bargain!
yeah, i got my front mitsu badge i had sitting in my shed, gave it a few coats of flat black....but for some reason didnt want to stick to the inner diamond part....ill give it another go tomorrow ;)
i had a chat to nexus and i'l get a pair wen he gets bak to perth and, just so u know that badge i did was with gloss black enamel paint thinned out with turps, hopefully it works this time other wise its straight for the bin . i'll do the indicators tomoro, doesnt sound hard i've yelled, screamed and swore before so it shouldnt be hard, but i dont c how this gets the orange part out  :bowrofl:.
o and i do hav a camera but its phone so the quality is shocking, i'll take some pics tomoro of the badge and grill and post em up, o and the LED brake light, but i dont think i can reach the pedal and take a photo:confused:.

trust me, when you get to the part of trying to get this orange bit out, you will see how the swearing helps :)
sweet, try and get someone to step on the pedal for you mayBee?
i might not post up the pics till i finish my next mod. Getting the car to a mechanic lol its having trouble and its not booked in yet but we'll c. And by the way does that bullbar on your car weigh alot and is it connected directly to chasis (i'm helping my mate put a bullbar on his ute and he wants to know if he can make it more secure)
[TUFFTR]
05-01-2006, 09:08 PM
i think theres some brackets on the chassis and its bolted to that (f**ken thick bolts i tell ya)
it is supposed to have a little bit of a wiggle but i like it rock hard :)
