how do i remove the actual dial needle's to get the faces off

you can also use a fork as leverage. Just put two prongs either side of the base of the needle and gently pry at it.

If you remove the needles from the instruments they will need to be calibrated and set back into the correct position or they will read wrong, and you will also void your vehicle insurance and Compulsory Third Party insurance as well, not to mention the prospects of receiving speed related fines as a result of not positioning them in the right spot......

If anything they probably be under the actual speed.
