View Full Version : how do i remove auto gear knob?

im trying to do a swifty and fit a normal manual style gear knob and boot to my tiptronic diamante.
first problem, how the hell do i get the gear knob off? i pulled the chrome collar off the bottom, didnt help. pried the button of the top of the knob, removed the three screws under that, also didnt help.
any ideas?

On the front of the gear selector (facing the ashtray), there is 1 screw. Undo that and you should be right.

some tiptronic and leather shifters undo the nut under the button to the shaft.

On the front of the gear selector (facing the ashtray), there is 1 screw. Undo that and you should be right.
no theres not, that was the first thing i looked for. :confused:
