G'day All,
Well Im looking for an amp to power my splits and a sub. I was looking at the jaycar 4 x 100 amps but tonight my old man told me he is going overseas to singapore next week. My question is if its worth him looking around for an amp for me? Is it much cheaper? Oh and I dont mean him looking for a jaycar amp overseas, just amps in general

Not worth it, if something goes wrong, you have to send it back to where is came from most of the time....

If you are worried about having a warranty in Australia... then don't.

Otherwise if you feel confident, I can't stop you.

You may get factory repaired items, or conterfeit goods. You could even cop defective stuff if they know you are from overseas. Once you get back and plug it in, you realise it doesn't work.

I'd be looking for Audison or similar brand gear if I was buying from overseas. No point getting something normal (pioneer/clarion/sony etc) at a really cheap price if you can get something better for the same price as a lower brand at home......

my 2c anyway.

Well there's no real markup on Audison products anyway. So I'm not sure if I'd even bother with overseas ****.

dont buy amps from singapore...
i got there regularly and find their amps to be quite expensive.
HU are bloody cheap there for example the apline 9855 would cost around $500AUS maybe less... depending on where you shop and how good your at bargining...

you can buy cheap amps there... around $200 but thats cheap no name quality...

australia has heaps better prices than in singapore / malaysia.
the only advantage to buying overseas (those countries) is if u know where to get stolen stuff.
im assuming ur old man dont know where to look.

and then there warranty.

i bought all my audio stuff off ebay. (Alpines)
cheap cheap cheap. but u gotta get over warranty..if it dies...tough cookies
