I've hunted for a copy of the Australian Rim and Tyre Standards Manual but come up empty handed.
Can someone post a summary of what combinations of rim and tyre widths are safe/legal in Australia? Or point me at a reference.
e.g. 225 series - min 7.0" max 8.0" (or whatever)

Most tyre manufacturerer websites have a listing of their tyres with mininimum, recommended
and maximum tyre width for each of their tyres.

and maximum tyre width for each of their tyres.You'd think so, but I've found this not to be the case for a lot of manufacturers.. Yokohama do so I guess that's alright for a guide. Thanks anyway.

tyre size rim size
205/65/15 5.5-7.5
215/60/16 6.0-7.5
225/50/17 6.0-7.5
235/45/17 7.5-9.0
235/40/18 8.0-9.5
