Boot lid cover come from the mitsu dealer for $91 ... here'e the thread for more info and part numbers

http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29766

pretty done all the dynamat i'm going to do but i just have to do under the parcel shelf oneday when i get keen but so far i've done the top of the parcel shelf and the whole back seat down to the floor, back doors, front doors and all the boot at a cost of around $700 but i got it all at cost through work

might sound alot but after hearing what it does to the sound and the rattles it stops it's well worth the money ... i can drive around with the stereo cranked and you can hear bugger all outside the car which i like as it draws no attention :)

nice work! very similar to mine :D except i used cheaper stuff!

i have to agree with the fact that u cant hear anything outside the car, similar to mine, can still hear the speakers and a sorta "wobble/squeaking* sorta wierd sound from the boot but no rattles :D

from memory i used 2 boxes of dynamat xtreme .. think it was $190 per box ... i reckon if you're going to do it you might as well do it right the first time

[TUFFTR]

i know, thats why ive bought JBL this, JVC that, 2ga wiring here, mono there, mate, starting from a budget of 1K to $1.6K really strecthes things when your "doing it right the first time"
the doors ill do in form of dynamat, but the boot i just need something cheap, unfortunalty 2 amps really take a bite outta budget.

SOOOOO if anyone can get me some SD for the doors OR boot OR both really cheap, or you got some lying around, send me a PM :)

Sorry to revive an old thread, but searched on the forums for sound deadening the boot and this came up.

I have a KH two piece boot. Is this what you had? And did this stop those rattles?

Thanks

oh, i'm swapping my TH boot for the KH boot, so i'll have to sound deaden that one. hopefully the extra lights etc dont make too many more rattles

Did we all use dynamat, or will the paint on body deadener work aswell?

Colgate

i only used dynamat as i got it cheap through work ... otherwise i would have used something a little cheaper

but after using and seeing the after affects i'm glad i used it

I'm getting vibrations from the spoiler, and from the two piece boot.

you think lining the inside of the boot will stop all this?

i used a foam expander/gap filler in the chassis rails, then used a spray on deadener, and then a thin tar based sound deadening pads i picked up from work... oh and the the verada boot carpet over the top! lol! the boot shuts itself now!

Do you now have any problems with the boot falling on your head when it's open?

hehehe almost. Its heavy to lift. But i have 3 layers in the lid part alone, and whilst its heavy, it doesnt come crashing down.. so you'll be right.

Yes lol....Its filled with a about 4 meters of foam (compressed in the spaces) and painted with 2 coats of paint on SD + my wing = Very heavy bootlid...Its getting to the stage where a slight wind will send it coming down, might be time to invest in some gas struts!

Doing what dee has done is sure to weight just about the same...

i used it and have regretted it...please people for the extra money use dynamat, it cost me $70 to do both doors and for the little extra i could of got some good stuff.

Im pretty sure now with 50WRMS being pumped into the doors they would cope but if i upgraded to some 100WRMS speakers i don't know how well the SD will stick

The Jaycar SD doesnt stick very well - warning
