Firstly, yes i have searched the forums and have not found a suitable response for my query.

Inspired by a recent thread on fuel filters, i decided to replace mine. I bought the part, depressurised the fuel sytem - but cant for the life of me figure out how to remove the plastic clip tube on the fuel filter. The clip is the plug connecting the fuel line to the fuel filter, on the fuel tank side of the filter.

I've rang mitsubishi and was informed to "squeeze" and push on to the tube tighter, then pull back. I've tried this technique, albeit no luck.

Cheers.

I'm not digging up an old thread just for the sake of it (actually it's not that old). Moments ago I was having the same issue with the plastic clip attaching one of the fuel lines into the fuel filter.

The barely useful gregory's manual states: "While lightly pulling the fuel supply hose, press the quick connector retaining tabs together and pull the hose away from the filter."

Stupid thing clearly states "pulling the fuel supply hose" when the exact oposite motion is required to disengage the clips.

Thanks to their vague instructions I've just spent more than 15 minutes trying to squeeze the tabs together while pulling the clip, inhaling fumes from the petrol trickling out the other end of the filter............... my head is still spinning now.

I'd probably still be there, swearing at the stupid clip if I hadn't decided to use the magical search button here on AMC.
