Well, I have finally got around to getting the TB in that EzBoy sent me last year. Actually, I think it has been sitting there for 2 months

Anyway, it's now in. Apart from a niggly problem (Idle is way out, re-setting ECU and will the adjust idle screw, and possibly swap my old idle control back in), it takes off like a rocket, the loud peal is VERY reponsive.

I've also noticed that at 100kmh cruise, the engine has gone down 100-200rpm. Bonus!

If any of you have dropped in a K&N Panel and have been suffering from the dreaded 'dead spot', this does not fix it but comes bloody close. It's a highly recommended mod that costs under $100. Was relatively easy to do as well, only took me an hour of work with all the correct tools.

Now I wanna get my hands on a G-Tech and do mine again, I reckon the extra torque down low could have gained me half a second or so.....And I wanna get it back on the Dyno at Mona Vale. Next time I'm going past!

Or worth his weight in Platinum/Latinum or whatever is the most expensive material known to man.

Caviar? Black Truffle ($4K/kg)?

Looks like I am going to have to swap in my old idle control.... but doing that tomorrow. Idling like a pig. Only Barry's fuel system mod to go... seriously considering it.

You're kidding, right? Why has that happened seeing as though the are completely unrelated systems. :doubt:

More efficient airflow, making more power/torque, needs less revs??

I've got no idea, but it is definitely lower RPM sitting on 100 clicks than before.

i wouldnt exactly call it more efficient air flow? ... its still a 65mmtb just has the small inner lip near the butterfly removed

I think your having yourself on. In an auto that might be possible but you claim to have a manual. A manual transmission is a fixed mechanical movement and if you have 10 hp or 500hp going through the same gearbox, the revs will be the same at the same speed.

That's what I would have thought, but I swear it is running at lower RPM than before.

Clutch slipping maybe?

Caviar? Black Truffle ($4K/kg)?

Thats only $400,00... Im sure if we all chipped in $50 we could get him cloned for less.

Side effect of the ECU reset?

MitsiMonsta

yeah, it could be. I'll reset my ECU on a daily basis then!

It's not much, but I keep an eagle eye on my tacho... so I know it is different.

I could use a clone! Multiplicity-like! Atm I feel like I'm never going to get all the things done I've set out to do!!

Did the ISC swap fix the idle? The TE unit was probably suspect.

ECU reset seems to have done the trick. Will run it around for a while and see if I can replicate it. If I can, will swam the ICS back over.

Lots more low end pull now, it's a different animal.

Bah! Wait 'til you get one of these:

Nah, you have to stop making those for a bit, and stop stuffing around to build a set of 6G72 extractors. If THEN I am not satisfied, then yes, that monsta plenum might be in order. I wanna hear it first.....

And you know once those extractors are finished, I will be over there like a shot... I wanna play guinea pig!

The dual TB's option for that plenum (and associated computer upgrade) has me very interested however.

Oh no... He went and poked the bear!

It takes more than just a little poke to get this bear all aggro

I know he is a busy boy.... the custom 6G72 extractors are the next step in my car, I dont want to go pacies due to the low hang of them. He has a special bit of gear that I am not allowed to mention, but it's gunna help with the 6G72 extractors.

Ian knows what I am after... I have a sneaky suspicion he wants my old TB back before he does anything

If I really wanted it done, I'd tell him he couldn't possibly have a set designed, made and ready to test on my car in 2 weeks..... Red flag - Bull.
