hey all, need a little help with my amp here.

last couple of times i have been in the car i have noticed that my system was lacking in a whole lot of bass but i hadnt had a chance to check it. just checked it now and my sub amp is in protect mode. how do i take it out of protect mode and get it running sweet again.

also what r some possible causes for this to happen?? i checked the fuse and it is intact. so have i blown my sub or is there something wrong with the ground?? i dunno help me out please.

the amp is a lanzar heritage HTG254
and the sub is a JBL 1000W gto- something. and i had the gains set correctly so i wasnt overpowering it.

thanks heaps

mine sometimes goes into protect mode when there's not enough power available from the battery

Is it all the time, or just after driving for awhile?
Main causes for an amp to go into protection:
- OverHeating
- Power Surge
- Speaker terminals or cables touching each other or other metal parts of the car.
- Check power and ground terminals on the amp to ensure the 2 wires arn't touching in anyway.
- Check that no wires touch the car chasis.
Best way to work it out is to take out the speaker wires first and see if it still does it, if it does its power wire related or RCAS, then continure etc.
If its the speaker wires, then it could be the speakers blown, terminals touching, + and - touching etc.
Basically just gotta go through it all and see if there are any abnormalities.

1)Turn the Gains down a Bit, see if it still goes into Protect..

2) Disconnect the Sub from the Amp and See if Protect Still comes on??
