Well went and had a 1/2 hour look at the 380 thats the first thing they got wrong the name 380, Tail Lamps and head lamps all Rat-****e overall boy has that cost em sales i gave it a 8/10 then on the advice of a mate had a look at Hyundai Sonarta Terrific style headlamps, Tail lamps, etc they certinaly got that right gave it a 9/10. Mitsubishi a bit like Toyota Camry just have not been able to finish off the job in hand Think i will hang on to my T.P Magna which has been a good car to me 234000kms, save a few more $$$ and wait for the 2006 Camry series 2 which has got to be a better design. Mecanically i believe the 380 would sell a lot more if they gave the choice of a 4 cyl, as well as the 6 cyl Just like the competion Hyundai & Toyota, As some one suggested hang off and see what the Series 2 380 looks like. Since Oct release have only seen one on the road but then they dont really stand out. On reflection if the 380 had the Hyundai Sonarta body it would be a real ball biter and sales would be moving a lot quicker, also i believe the 380 is $3000 overpriced. Cheers to you all. lol TAIL LAMPS

who buys a car based on tail lamps??? if u like everything else about the 380, just fibreglass some better ones in. as for comparing it to a hyndai sorry mate but different ballpark, mitsubishi is alot better build quality then a hyndai. the next toyota camry to come out will only be released in a 4cyl to aim at the wide growing asian market in this country. toyota will be bringing out a whole new car for their 6cyl range, which will be sold as a more sporty alternative than a family car.
cheers

1) Did you even test drive the 380 ?

2) So your saying Mitsubishi should have just designed there shell based of the Holden commodore?

Genius. If Mitsubishi built there car as small as the sonata, IMO they would be stuffed. 3000 dollars over priced, how bout no, its priced competitively between the Ford and Holden. Look at the gear you get for a BASE model vehicle.

3) If your opinion of the Hyundai so high. And you like it so much, why not buy it?

Im going to buy a 380 VRX or GT then buy the "normal" 380 tail lights and swap. dont like the clear ones at all.

I wouldn't say different ballpark. Hyundai have really got there **** together recently and I would dare say they are on par with Australian built Mitsubishi's

- nothing wrong with the name 380
- how you can base your desicion on a car PURELY by the front and rear taillights is stupid.
- the new camry is worst looking car ive ever seen in my life, so i dont know what kind of
taste you have.
- im still getting over you said nothing about the performance of the car, interior styling,
color options, handling, or stopping.

dood did you just look at the car and give an opinion from there?
at least take it for a detailed test drive and give us your opinion on the WHOLE CAR.

Mitsubishi 380 is targeted at customers who can spell and use proper punctuation, which would count you out.

If you haven't driven the 380, I think you are only entitled to comment on the styling of the car, as opposed to the car overall. I can vouch for the fact that the 380 pisses on anything of equivalent price and size in the market. The fact that it's $3,000 overpriced as you and others say, is because it's at least $3,000 more valuable/expensive to make, and that's ignoring the ~ 3% annual inflation in Australia.

Based on an expected inflation of ~3% annually in Australia, new car prices of family sedans currently around the $35,000 mark should be increased to $36,050 next year, and $37,131.50 the following year, and will continue to rise. This is STILL assuming the products are identical, and we all know that new cars get new and better features, so these prices SHOULD definitely increase more.

I expect that when the new VE Commodore comes out it will be around the $37,000 mark because of a) inflation and b) it having superior features and significantly more money invested into developing it than the VZ Commodore. You can't compare apples with oranges, and you can't compare new generation models like the 380 to old models like the TW Magna, VZ Commodore, and BF Falcon for pricing because they are vastly different products with significantly more money invested in their development. The newer generation models, should be, and almost always are more expensive than their outdated rivals.
